Beginnings and Endings

I just finished reading a book that very clearly says that there is no beginning and no end. To anything. Just progress. Neverending.

If there is no beginining and no end, then there is no reason to believe the first three words of the bible.... "In the beginning..."

If there is no reason to believe the first three words of the bible, then there is no reason to believe any of the words that follow.

Or so the book would have us believe.

When I turned on the computer to write this blog, I began something. When I started typing, I began something. When I stop typing and upload, I will have finished something. When I turn off this computer, I am done.

I experienced a beginning and an end. In my finite understanding of time, I know that things start and things stop; things have a beginning and an end.

What does that mean for the book I just read?

It means that although the author would have us believe otherwise, the book begins at the front cover and ends at the back cover. There is a beginning and and end to the book. That is reality.

If every act has a beginning and an end, why would I believe any differently about creation?

The next time you pick up a paintbrush, a pencil or a typewriter (or anything else for that matter) to be creative, think about it.... did you experience a beginning and an end?
